EPs, library books, vinyl and friends

1.  My EP felt near completion for a while and then I listened to it recently and decided it was no where near where I want it to be.  I really wanted to get it out in autumn because it is filled with summer songs to be listened to during the autumn, but that does not seem like it is going to happen.  We’ll see, though.  I am making plans to go with these guys - sire press - as they do screen printing on short run CDs (I am upset with digital printing for the time being) - check them out if you have any sort of printing project.

2.  ukiyo-ki songs will be continuing in the near future.  I returned the print book to the library so I am out of prints and out of inspiration.  But I will get another book soon I promise.  Even if I don’t, I will be writing some songs soon and just think about these beautiful beautiful fall days as I stare at a map of the world.

3.  I’ve become increasingly particular about timing and truly inspired recordings of songs.  I’ve recently got trapped by jazz and r and b vinyl.  It started innocently enough with a Monk or Nina Simone record here and there and I think I got caught and now I catch myself daydreaming about finding Bill Evan’s Live at the Village Vanguard or an original Howlin’ Wolf record or, I shouldn’t say as it is a holy grail, but I will in case you see it - Mal Waldron’s The Quest.  In all likelihood, this is the cause of number 1 above.

4.  These covers that we/or/me has been sharing are great and I hope he posts more soon.
